Cost requirements - Service life of fire fighting apparatus.
The next two pages will explain the cost requirements and associated service life for the Fire Engines, Ladder Trucks, Water Tenders and Brush Trucks. These and other service vehicles are necessary to maintain the high level of response and services the public requires. These apparatus are normally aquired through bond issues, since regular tax dollars are used to fund the daily operating expenses of the district.

New Engine / Pumper
In our district, this apparatus functions as a primary response vehicle for fire and aid calls.
A new engine similar to this costs between $350,000.00 to $550,000.00.
It should have a service life of 10 years at our current level of calls.

Second Engine / Pumper
In our district, this apparatus functions as a primary response vehicle for fire and aid calls from our secondary station.
A new apparatus similar to this costs approximately $400,000.00
